Romney has released a new ad today titled “Dear Daughter” which features a mother speaking to her young child about the challenges women are facing in America under the Obama administration. Eli Stokols has reported that the ad will run in Colorado; however, the exact ad buy was not available. Here’s an excerpt:
“Dear Daughter, welcome to America. Your share of Obama’s debt is over $50,000, and it grows every day. Obama’s policies are making it harder on women. The poverty rate for women – the highest is 17 years. More women are unemployed under President Obama – more than 5.5 million can’t find work.”
As we’ve written about extensively, women are the Holy Grail for candidates this election season. But a new Denver Post poll shows that the gender gap is becoming a gender sliver, with Romney narrowing the gap to just six points. In Colorado and across the United States, women have suffered under Obama’s oppressive policies. Just a quick rundown from our post last month:
- Obama has a history of paying his female staffers 18% less than their male counterparts.
- The most recent Bureau of Labor Statistics’ job report for July 2012 showed that 214,000 women over the age of 20 have exited the workforce since June.
- When comparing July 2011 to July 2012, we see that over 1.5 million women over the age of 20 have left the workforce.
- More than 860,000 more women are unemployed since Obama took office.
President Obama, it’s not about free birth control, it’s about economic freedom for women.
Worth looking at.
