Since Revealing Politics dropped a bomb on State Rep. Joe Salazar (D-Thornton) last Monday by releasing video of him making controversial comments about women and rape during a gun debate, Colorado Democrats have been whining to any reporter who will listen about how unfair it is that his comments are being blown up to national proportions.

These are the same Democrats, mind you, that have tried for four years to tar and feather every Republican running for any seat anywhere in the country, down to county dog catcher, as being another Todd Akin or some other moron speaking stupidly about rape.

But folks, the venerable and tough Lynn Bartels ain’t buying it.

Her response to the crocodile tears of legislative Democrats: Suck it up, buttercup.

Or so she said in a radio interview recently to KUNC’s Bente Birkeland:

“For two election cycles Democrats have done this “war on women.” If you make a clumsy remark and you’re a Republican then “you’re a Neanderthal”…”this shows you’re not sensitive to women”…

Look at the Indiana Senate candidate in 2012 who made that kind of unfortunate comment about rape and the next day he apologized and said I would never want anyone to be raped. Well then the Democrats were then like “ohhhh, see, he shouldn’t be in the Senate. He’s insensitive to women.”

The reality is Democrats are getting done to them what they’ve done for two election cycles and they’re like “this is terrible. This isn’t what we meant to say. You know we didn’t mean that.”
