This afternoon a massive tornado ripped through the suburbs of Oklahoma City, OK, leaving an unimaginable wake of destruction.  According to the Oklahoma State Medical Examiner, there have been at least 51 fatalities as a result of this beast that primarily struck in Moore, OK.  Included in the victims were many children at Plaza Towers Elementary School in Moore, OK.  We’re sending our thoughts and prayers to the families of those who were killed by this enormous storm as well as those who have been injured or who have lost everything.

The citizens of Moore and the surrounding area have lost an unimaginable amount, including homes, cars, and personal belongings.  In addition to your thoughts and prayers, they could use your help.  Here are a few ways you can help alleviate the suffering of the victims:

  • Red Cross: Donate to the American Red Cross Disaster Relief Fund here.  You also may send a $10 donation to the Disaster Relief fund via text message by texting the word REDCROSS to 90999. The donation will show up on your wireless bill.
  • Salvation Army: The Salvation Army is sending mobile kitchens that can serve meals to 2,500 people a day, and to the hardest hit areas of Oklahoma.  You can donate online here.  You also may send a $10 donation to the Salvation Army via cell phone by texting the word STORM to 80888.  To send a check, please use put the words “Oklahoma Tornado Relief” in the check’s memo, and mail it to: The Salvation Army, P.O.
