A recent report by local TV station KKCO highlights the negative impact that Amendment 66, Governor Hickenlooper’s billion dollar tax increase on ballots right now, will have on rural schools.

For example, De Beque school district on the Western Slope would lose $742 per student if the billion dollar tax increase passes, because the ballot measure is paired with a spending bill that gives more money to school districts with a higher rate of ESL and at-risk students.

More money for Denver, less for rural school districts like De Beque.

A Democratic effort that screws rural Colorado to benefit Denver? That sounds familiar.
