While liberal mainstream media (that behave like liberal blogs) have attempted to cast doubt on whether Magpul Industries would make good on its promise to bolt from Colorado following Colorado state House and Senate Democrats’ legislative gun grab, today we learn that the process of moving is underway.  From the Washington Times:

Magpul Industries, a firearms-accessories maker, announced Thursday that it will relocate its extensive manufacturing facilities to Texas and Wyoming, in angry response to the Colorado legislature’s passage of sweeping gun-control legislation in 2013.

At the same time, the company plans to maintain a toehold in Colorado in order to continue to fight the gun bills passed by the Democratic-dominated state legislature and signed in March by Democratic Gov. John Hickenlooper.”

The CEO of Magpul, Richard Fitzpatrick, who started the company in the basement of his Longmont, Colorado home, had this to say in a press release:

“Moving operations to states that support our culture of individual liberties and personal responsibility is important.  This relocation will also improve business operations and logistics as we utilize the strengths of Texas and Wyoming in our expansion.”

This is a very bad story for Democratic Governor John Hickenlooper and the Democrats, who just laughably announced that their focus would be on jobs and the economy.  First it was Senators who were recalled.  Now it is Colorado jobs.  Hickenlooper must have been hoping that the ripples from his gun-flub would stop rippling.  Happy New Year’s Guv: they aren’t.
