So, remember Don Quick? He ran against Cynthia Coffman for Attorney General and lost by an embarrassing 9 points. Turns out, Quick saw it coming and had applied for a backup job before Election Day.

We know this because Quick has been selected as a finalist for the office of district judge for the 17th Judicial District, which covers Broomfield and Adams Counties. Applications for the position were due by Nov. 3rd. That means Quick had to have applied before the election, which means he also had to have known he was going to get schooled by Coffman.

We get why Quick felt the need to CYA once he saw polling in the race. But it’s pretty rude to ask donors, volunteers and staff to have confidence in your candidacy if you don’t have even have confidence in it yourself.
