U.S. Rep. Mike Coffman raised nearly a half-million dollars during the last fundraising quarter and now has more than $850,000 cash-on-hand to beat back a challenge from Democratic state Sen. Morgan Carroll.

“I am happy to report that we blew by our fundraising goal,” Coffman said in a statement. “While my opponent has been calling in big names like Nancy Pelosi to bat for her, our grassroots support cannot be matched.”

Carroll has not announced her fundraising totals, and judging by the complete lack of interest in her campaign and difficulties in getting any supporters to attend the Democrat’s listening tours, we expect her efforts were severely lacking.

The Denver Post reported Coffman’s success and said his windfall raises the fundraising bar for Carroll, which we think is stating it nicely.

Looks to us like she’s getting her butt kicked.
