Yesterday, we reported that it had been a full ten days since the attacks in Paris and, yet, embattled U.S. Senator Michael Bennet still hadn’t made any decision on what to do about security concerns over the resettlement of Syrian refugees in the United States, and more specifically, in Colorado. Will he side with Governor John Hickenlooper, his former boss, who wants to invite all the Syrians here? Or, will he side with literally almost everyone else who is asking that the federal government take a moment and review its screening procedures to ensure that, in our country’s attempt to help those fleeing a brutal regime, we don’t invite terrorists into our country? Or, are he and his staff still poring over the four and one half pages of legislation?

Time will tell. Or, maybe it won’t. Maybe we’ll get to the election without any kind of word on whether Bennet will support legislation, with bipartisan support, to strengthen screening procedures.

In the meantime, while we wait for Bennet’s response, feel free to keep yourselves entertained with the following video about a similar time of great anticipation woven into our cultural fabric.
