Just as we predicted, Democrats lined up yesterday to voice their opposition to Neil Gorsuch for the Supreme Court.

Not because he lacks the qualifications, because he has those, in spades. But because Democrats have been spoiling for this fight since last year when Justice Antonin Scalia died.

Because it was on the cusp of a presidential election, Republicans wanted to wait until that contest was won by either the Democrat or Republican candidate before moving forward with the confirmation process that would run right into Election Day.

Oh wait, that’s former Senator and Vice President Joe Biden, a Democrat, explaining why former President Bush should not name a nominee before an election.

It’s funny how Democrats like to insist on precedence, until they are called upon to follow it.

Democrats can scream thief all they want and claim that Republicans are trying to “steal” the seat, but that doesn’t make it true. Even when the media reports their claims as facts.
