Elon Musk has contributed more than $200,000 to Colorado Republican Gabe Evans’ congressional race in the 8th District against Democrat incumbent Yadira Caraveo.

The donation is through Musk’s Political Action Committee (PAC), which is targeting 18 House races with a reported $10 million investment.

After purchasing Twitter and releasing company communications that exposed a web of government censure activities with social media, the billionaire entrepreneur has been on a wild independent streak leading the cause for freedom of speech — and not just that of the political left.

The libertarian is said to be worth $250 billion. He confirmed his conversion to the GOP this summer when he responded “Yeah” to an X post that said “Elon Musk went from being an Obama voter to pledging $180 million to elect DJT. The woke left really f*cked up. Badly.”

Musk formed the PAC in June, which the Wall Street Journal reports is focusing on mail-in ballots in swing states and targeting voters for get out the vote efforts.

Musk’s money is a nice boost to Evans’ campaign that has raised just over $1 million, while Caraveo has raised nearly $5 million, with more than $855,000 coming from Democrat PACs.

Recent polls show the two candidates are tied in support from the new district’s voters.
