Brace yourself Colorado for sticker shock when open enrollments starts in two weeks to renew health insurance and prices are triple the rate of inflation.

Colorado Politics breaks down the individual premium increase to 5.6% while small businesses with less than 100 workers will get jammed up 7.1%.

This is how Gov. Polis saves people money!

The irony of Polis’s campaign slogan of allegedly “saving people money” was not lost on the reporter:

The premium increases were buried in an announcement Thursday from the insurance division and the governor’s office, which touted how much Coloradans would save because of the state’s reinsurance program.

But wait, it gets worse.

The costs for employer-sponsored family plans spiked 7% for the second year in a row, with an annual cost the same as a good used car, about $26,000 a year, reports the Kaiser Family Foundation.

Colorado was ranked in the top 10 of the most expensive health insurance premiums this year.

Apparently, Polis is working hard to take us to number one!
