The 6th Congressional District took a tragic left turn on Tuesday as the majority of voters handed that seat to Nancy Pelosi and the Democratic Party.
The residents there (we weep for you) will now be represented in Congress by Jason Crow, who sold his soul to the devil Steny Hoyer and the Democratic leadership in order to take this seat from the Grand Old Party.
Both CNN and Fox are projecting the Democrats will take control of the U.S. House. May God have mercy on our souls.
U.S. Rep. Michael Coffman, who served as congressman for the district since 2009, was at 45 percent and Crow was holding at 53 percent when we finally broke down and made the call for this race.
It was a deceitful campaign from the beginning, with interference from Beltway Democrats who basically muscled Crow into the nomination slot, followed by the most heartless campaign commercials ever on Crow’s behalf — featuring the victim of a school shooting, of all disgusting things.
We learned a lot from watching this campaign unfold — that Democrats lie about refusing corporate campaign donations, while taking said cash that is laundered through Democratic leadership PACs.
We learned that if Diana DeGette and Jared Polis don’t want someone to be the Democratic nominee for office, they have the muscle to push them out of the way.
And we learned that no matter how hard a politician works for their district, voters can be fickle and forgetful.
Coffman, a Gulf War and Iraqi War veteran, and former secretary of state and state treasurer, is not likely to completely disappear from the political landscape.
But we do expect he will be taking a long and deserved vacation for a while.
Meanwhile, Crow is off to D.C. to vote for Nancy Pelosi to lead the House Democrats, and raise our taxes.
