The Western Slope’s U.S. Rep. Scott Tipton has turned in his petitions with more than 3,000 signatures to qualify for the GOP primary.
That’s about 1,500 more signatures than he needed.
Tipton’s primary opponent, Lauren Boebert, didn’t go the petition route.
She’s participating in the online assembly meeting on April 17 and will need 30% of the vote.
All three Democrats seeking their party’s nomination are also going the virtual assembly route.
That includes Former state Rep. Diane Mitsch Bush of Steamboat Springs, liberal activist Root Routledge of Durango, and James Iacino, who claims to have moved from Denver to the Western Slope.
