Biden caves to Taliban: Colorado Dems help play race card to divert attention

President Biden made a bold move by playing the race card before launching into Tuesday’s briefing of his administration’s handling of the American withdrawal from Afghanistan.

Why?

Because Biden had bowed to the Taliban, letting them set the drop-dead date to leave the country.

President Biden struggled to recover his shaken leadership at home and abroad Tuesday, rejecting calls from allies and lawmakers to extend next week’s deadline for evacuating Afghanistan as an emboldened Taliban made fresh demands for a U.S. exit.

 

Mr. Biden told heads of state of the Group of Seven leading industrial nations in a virtual meeting that he wouldn’t prolong the massive airlift of Westerners and Afghans, plus the withdrawal of U.S. troops, beyond his stated deadline of Aug. 31.

 

He asked the Pentagon to draw up a Plan B in case the sometimes chaotic and dangerous operation in Kabul encounters further problems, such as attacks by the Islamic State Khorasan or other extremists.

It’s understandable Biden was avoiding the issue for as long as possible, using up his Afghanistan briefing time to urge Congress to vote on the John R. Lewis Voting Rights Advancement Act as soon as possible.

Biden also used the time to praise the Democrat-controlled House for passing a $3.5 trillion budget resolution with new entitlement programs, the Green New Deal, and military spending that amounts to cuts when inflation is factored into the equation. 

So getting back to the Afghanistan briefing, Biden says our troops have to pull out by midnight Tuesday, because that’s what the Taliban told him to do.

Here’s what Colorado’s Republican delegation had to say about the whole sh*t show.

The Democrat’s dean of their delegation, U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette, didn’t even show up in Washington, D.C. for the votes Tuesday.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi is still letting members vote by proxy. DeGette gave her proxy to U.S. Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester of Delaware, who cast it in lockstep with Pelosi.

But DeGette managed to issue a canned statement after 5 p.m. that would lead her voters to assume she’s on the job.

Could she be anymore out of touch with the international crisis caused by her party? And where the Hell is she, anyway?

U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter actually made a rare public appearance to share this clip, where he compares the massive pork bill to necessary investments, like the Louisiana Purchase. Didn’t see that one coming, did you?

Meanwhile, U.S. Rep. Joe Neguse was at the card table with Biden:

U.S. Rep. Crowe has actually been working to help Americans and refugees get a ticket out of the Kabul airport. But he also made time to play cards with Biden and Neguse to help change the subject to race.
