Senate President John Morse loves to talk about his time as a cop in Colorado Springs, but it appears his colleagues aren’t so fond of the State Senator.
This week, the Colorado Springs Police Protective Association (CSPPA) held a press conference and slammed Senator Morse for being “out of touch” and endorsed his Republican challenger in the recall election, Bernie Herpin.
Morse is facing a historic recall election on September 10 for his anti-gun votes in the legislature.
“We are outraged that Senator Morse is using a photograph of himself in our uniform in a political ad leaving the impression that he represents our values. John Morse doesn’t share our values and doesn’t have our support,” said Officer Tim Ives, Treasurer of the CSPPA.
Ives continued, “Morse has ignored us and our concerns while Bernie Herpin has worked hand-and-hand with us for decades. This endorsement was a no-brainer.”

Glad to see the stand against Morse. He was a lousy supervisor and a lousy senator.
I wish I was there and able to vote. I hope those of you who can do the right thing.
Good for CSPPA for taking a strong stance against Morse. As a fellow police officer in the Denver-Metro area I'm glad to see the men and women of CSPD's Protective Association speak out against Morse.
Fire him yes. Send him to NY? My family is in NY. How about California?
Fire him and send him to NY on his dime.
They stuck it where the sun don't shine!
Outstanding!
