A new video released by Revealing Politics illustrates the massive – to use the words of a USA Today focus group attendee – boondoggle that Obamacare has become.
A constituent attending a town hall of Boulder Congressman Jared Polis asks Polis what is going on with federal law, as his health insurance plan had been cancelled by Rocky Mountain Health and when the constituent went online to find a new, equivalent plan, it cost 89% more.
Polis literally has no response, other than he’ll look into it.
No wonder only 3% of Coloradans polled by USA Today said the law has had a positive impact on them or their families.
You are talking to the peoples republic of boulder. The air is almost pink form the extreme amount of Kool-Aid they drink.
What should Polis care? He and all the other members of Congress and their staff have exempted themselves from the law. Now the pols and get even more bribes and kickbacks by offering exemptions to those who pay enough extortion money. We'd be better off if Tony Soprano ran Congress.
This conversation reminds me of my favorite highway message. In the mid-80s (well before the Big Dig), Boston was doing work on the central artery through downtown. Massport put up a big-ass warning sign on I-93 north of town:
CENTRAL ARTERY UNDER CONSTRUCTION.
SEEK ALTERNATE ROUTES.
My friend thought the sign was wonderful, but it needed a companion:
IF YOU FIND ANY, PLEASE LET US KNOW.
Followed by a third:
BURMA SHAVE.
Bill Bradley California is the next Detroit. You've already had a couple counties go belly up. People are fleeing the high taxes, congestion, and government control. Unfortunately, when Californicators come in, they vote like Californicators.
Did the same to a friend of mine.
He's too busy writing poems about Ted Cruz on his facebook page.
By "I'll look into it" what he means is shut up, I pseudo-answered your question (i.e. gave you your 15 seconds) and now I'm going to promptly ignore the objection.
"I'll look into it" is Congressman Jared Polis' equivalent of Obomba's "gee, the only info I have on NSA wrongdoings is what I hear on the news". It's a feigned ignorance intended to deflect questioning about an awkward subject. The news is rife with stories of massive health insurance rate increases, and it's simply not credible for Polis to pretend he's unaware of the issue.
"I'll look into it" is politic-speak for "let's change the subject to something less awkward for me"

My Medicare Advantage Plan has a 384% increase. From $0 to $32 per month. Thanks Mr.Obama. Being on a fixed income makes any increase hard to cope with. The Congress just doesn't care about anything but getting reelected.
That guy can also get his birth control pills for free.
Wake up Boulder! Polis represents no one but himself and the other OES in the current administration. Reality and common sense have left the building!
Polis is a billionaire. He couldn't give a flying crap for the "little people."
And Polis agrees to not be covered by Obamacare. What a hypocrite.
Perhaps he should have read it so he didn't have to wait to find out what's in it. BTW, that guy, and all guys, now have maternity care.
I hope Congressman Polis gets back to us when he figures it out!
Can't answer questions about it but we're going to vote for it cause it doesn't effect me so I don't care about regular people. Polis should take his money and get his butt out of politics both fed and local!
