The billion dollar tax increase, backed by $10 million from primarily the teachers unions and out-of-state donors, went down hard tonight.
Opponents barely had two nickels to rub together.
Final results are still being tabulated but it’s all over but for the Fat Lady.

With results like these, it’s virtually impossible for backers of the tax increase to make up the gap.
It looks like big money can’t buy a recall in Colorado or a tax increase.
UPDATE: The Associated Press calls it:
The Associated Press is calling it: Amendment 66 has failed. #copolitics #covote

John W. Hickenlooper should remember his own quotes at this point:
"Colorado is a state that people like to be themselves and solve their own problems," Hickenlooper said. "They don't really like outside organizations meddling in their affairs."
Gov, you have now been beat down 3 times from grassroots groups in CO. If you continue to take outside money, you might want to keep some since you probably will be unemployed in less than a year.
They did.
I agree.
Mike Miller I'm thinking it was voter fraud…

And Polis
Bennett also….
All the money put up to push Amendment 66 could of been GIVEN to Colorado Schools period.
Maybe they should have dedicated the marijuana taxes to fund the schools!
Congratulations CO!!!! I'm an Arkansan and very happy to see you succeeded in the recalls and this defeat of more liberal greed. just wish VA hadn't shown their ass tonight.
so sorry Mike.
Cause unions are only for lazy ppl
the first $40 million goes to education.
YES! now if we defeated the common core backers in District 51, I can sleep tonight
Shame it has left us in Virginia!!!
Udall and Hickenlooper are next!
Totally agree
Now that they voters voted to tax pot, give that money to education! Just sayin
Finally outside money isn't working here ,maybe people are tired of people from other states putting there nose in our business!
Sorry that you $10,000,000 guys lost your bet on 66,
but thankful that you brought in all that out-of-state money to our Colorado economy.
YES!!!!! Now can we please get rid of Udall? Pleeeeeease!
YESSSSSS
True common sense is slowly returning.
Colorado is a lot less blue today, proud of conservative Colorado!
NOOOO
Yahoo! This was a bad measure and it wouldn't have helped Colorado school children.
Great result! Apparently Coloradan's don't appreciate out of state billionaires spending millions to fool us in to destroying our state economy with higher taxes.
Great job Coloradans…now lets get these commies out of Colorado for good!!! Starting with Hickenlooper!!!!
Common sense is slowly creeping back into Colorado.
YESSSSSSS!!!!
AMEN!
