U.S. Sen. John Hickenlooper can’t even wish Colorado a happy 145th birthday without doing something stupid that blows up in his face.

Timing is everything and Hick’s is crap.

The video was actually staged on July 23 when Hick and Gov. Polis had to make a rare visit to the Western Slope because Interior Secretary Deb Haaland was visiting.

Hickenlooper used the video to give the impression he was out and about celebrating Colorado Day.

What gave him away?

Glenwood Canyon’s been closed since last week.

Interstate 70 has been closed since Thursday after more than 100 motorists were stranded when a mudslide hit the Grizzly Creek burn scar.

Honestly Hickenlooper, are you really this clueless about what’s happening in Colorado?

Better yet, why isn’t Hickenlooper or U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet for that matter, trying to get any money in the $1 trillion so-called infrastructure bill set aside to fix the I-70 problems in Glenwood Canyon?

With only $110 billion of that money actually earmarked for road, bridge and major infrastructure projects, the odds are unlikely we’ll see a dime of that money help fix the issue because Colorado’s Democrat senators obviously have no sway within their own party or the White House.

There’s not a whole lot of love for Hick or Polis in Colorado either, as evidenced by other responses to his tweet.
