Just when it looked like Americans could once again afford to serve red meat on a regular basis to the whole family, Gov. Polis has offered President-elect Donald Trump his expertise in saving people money.

If that sounds like a joke, that’s because it is. And yet Polis still said it in his congratulatory statement to Trump on his victory over Kamala Harris.

PeakNation™ knows well the phrase “saving people money” is Polis’s political mantra as he wastes people’s money on things like the creation of the Office of Saving People Money on Healthcare that hasn’t saved us a dime.

Polis doesn’t really mean it when he claims to want to save us money, nor does he really mean congratulations or most of his statement to Trump.

Like when he thanked Harris for running “a strong, historic and issues-based campaign.”

Her campaign was neither strong nor issues-based, plural. She ran on identity politics and abortion, and history will quickly forget her.

But we digress.

It’s unclear why Polis felt it necessary to issue a statement on the election of both Trump and Vance as if Democracy depended on his approval.

And yet he put on his big boy pants and boldly stated on behalf of all Coloradans that we are “strongly committed to protecting freedom, choice, and the opportunity for everyone to build the life they want in our great state.”

But like a Chinese fortune cookie, that sentence only rings true if it ends with the phrase, “in bed.”

Then in an epic failure to read the room, Polis went on to scold the Republican winners and hold forth himself as the sensitive champion of the people.

“I hope President-elect Trump and Vice-President-Elect Vance take this opportunity to try to unite our country and set aside the campaign’s divisive rhetoric. No matter what, the Free State of Colorado will remain a beacon that reflects the values of economic liberty and personal liberty that this country was built on, and we will do everything in our power to protect all Coloradans and our freedoms.”

We look forward to setting aside the campaign’s divisive rhetoric that hit rock bottom by calling 72 million Americans garbage and Nazis for supporting a Republican, and Harris’s suggestion in her concession speech that Trump is a tyrant and vowed to continue fighting him.

And we would urge Polis to follow his own advice when Coloradans disagree with him, and not launch into divisive name calling.
