Denver Mayor Johnston is threatening to deploy the mothers of anarchy against Donald Trump should he come knocking on the Sanctuary City’s jail house doors to begin the mass deportation of criminal illegal aliens.
Johnston told Denverite the city won’t abandon its Sanctuary City status that allows for migrants in the country illegally to get free health and other welfare benefits, plus access to a legal defense fund.
It also means the Denver Police Department (DPD) must refuse to honor Immigration holds on criminals except when required by law, and police are blocked by a 2014 city ordinance from conducting immigration enforcement work on behalf of, or with federal immigration officers.

The mayor also takes heart that the people of Denver — not just the administration — would likely resist a mass deportation effort from federal forces.
“More than us having DPD stationed at the county line to keep them out, you would have 50,000 Denverites there,” Johnston said. “It’s like the Tiananmen Square moment with the rose and the gun, right?” You’d have every one of those Highland moms who came out for the migrants. And you do not want to mess with them.”
Denver isn’t the only city promising to block law enforcement from removing criminal illegal aliens and threatening Peaceful Protest™ riots. New York and Los Angeles are also pledging to ignore Trump’s orders.
It’s obscene that Democrats like Johnston and Gov. Polis are scaring legal and illegal migrants into thinking Trump would send National Guard tanks rolling through neighborhoods, demanding to see proof of citizenship and hauling grandmothers away for deportation.
Unless grandma is a convicted axe murderer and already behind bars serving her sentence, she has nothing to fear.

Trump is coming for jailed criminals who are in this country illegally, of that there is no doubt. And cities that hide behind Sanctuary City laws like Denver can expect to see federal funding cut. Johnston was right about that.
But Johnston indicated he is more than willing to confiscate more money from Denver residents in taxes and whatever else it takes to make sure welfare services and free lawyers will always be available to those who cross the border illegally.
“The short answer is, we won’t change that, because those are one of our core values,” Denver Mayor Mike Johnston said in an interview on Friday. “And we’re not going to sell out those values to anyone. We’re not going to be bullied into changing them.”
So long as the crimes committed aren’t felonies, criminal migrants in this country illegally are welcome in Denver!
