Liberal tears flooded the Colorado state legislature this week as final election recounts confirmed Democrats have lost their supermajority in the House along with dreams of similar domination in the Senate.

The critical recounts confirmed Republican Dan Woog beat Democrat incumbent Jillaire McMillan by 110 votes to win House District 19.

Proving the adage that every vote counts, Republican Rebecca Keltie defeated Democrat state Rep. Stephanie Vigil in the Colorado Springs area by just three votes.

That recount was completed and certified by the canvas board that includes Democrat and Republican representatives.

And yet insurrection is afoot!

Vigil boasted before the recount she would honor the outcome, but now she refuses to concede and says she is looking for a way to outsmart the process.

“There are legal remedies available to me to investigate possible variables that would return the results to what the recount process initially determined, but I will need to consult with legal experts before making a decision of that magnitude,” she said in a statement Thursday.

Democrats only need to win back one of three seats they lost in November to resecure their supermajority status in the state House.

If they had won a supermajority in the Senate, which they lost by one seat, Democrats would have had veto power over the governor, and the authority to send constitutional amendments straight to the ballot.
