A new day is dawning in America today, and we are marking the occasion with this pledge from President Trump’s Interior Secretary nominee, Scott Pruitt, to hold the EPA’s feet to the fire on the Gold King Mine spill.
U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner applauded Pruitt’s commitment to reviewing the EPA’s decision to deny claims under the Federal Tort Claims Act to Coloradans and other states and entities who suffered economic damage due to the agency’s actions.
For too long, the EPA has run roughshod over private Americans as well as businesses small and large, spewing forth regulations and collecting fines wherever they can. It’s about time we held their feet to the fire, and demanded they adhere to same rules that they enforce on everyone else.
We expected no less from the new Trump administration, and look forward to their review of the EPA’s actions.
