Hickenlooper stepped into Iowa to campaign for president, and then immediately stepped in it during an interview with Politico.
Quite possibly, it’s the worst introduction to voters since Admiral James Stockdale opened the 1992 vice presidential debate by asking “Who am I? Why am I here?!”
You’re going to want to sit down for this.
Hickenlooper compared rural Colorado to slavery states.
“We are seeing a divide in this country that is as significant as when we had slave states and anti-slavery states,” Hickenlooper said. “This rural-urban divide, people in rural areas of Colorado and across the country feel like the urban areas have just left them behind and don’t care.”
Hickenlooper’s solution to avoiding a new war between the states is just as hokey and out-of-touch as his wild-eyed analogy of the state of Colorado and the U.S.
Broadband, that will solve the problem.
Oh, and reeducation programs to train energy workers how to install solar panels and such.
Yea, that’s what started the Civil War all right, a lack of broadband and jobs.
Dear Hick,
We have roads that need fixing, an audit of the state expenditures to perform, and an accounting of the tax dollars on medical marijuana to get through before you have any business speaking to the rest of the country about how to live their lives.
Quit grand standing and get back to work.
Sincerely,
Colorado
Not the first time The Hick has dissed the rural areas. Remember this comment? “Hickenlooper: I think a couple things, I mean, you know, the tragic death of Matthew Shepard occurred in Wyoming. Colorado and Wyoming are very similar. We have some of the same, you know, backwards thinking in the kind of rural Western areas you see in, you know, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico.”
And this idiot wants to run for President on a ticket with John Kacich? Who the heck is he kidding. It was under his tenure that rural Colorado suffered and CPP is correct, the Eastern Range did ignore the people in Rural CO. Most County Offices here in the SLV, especially Costilla are run by Democrats who hire family members or extended family members for any of the County Jobs available here. There is so much nepotism here it’s ridiculous. I know this for a fact because since I moved here in 2010 I have applied for jobs (which aren’t many) about 6 times and the excuses they’ve given me (which I’m highly qualified for) stink. Plus the illegal problem here is horrendous.
