Colorado Attorney General Phil Weiser and Democrats in general need to take a break from MSNBC’s conspiratorial and wildly uninformed coverage of what a second Trump administration portends for immigration.

To those who voted Republican it primarily means a return to secured borders to protect U.S. citizens from those who would do us harm, while processing immigrants in an orderly fashion. Like we used to do, only with less red tape and bureaucratic bungling.

As Trump’s incoming border czar has clearly stated, deportation efforts will focus on those in this country who are a threat to public safety and national security threats.

To Democrats like Weiser, it means indiscriminate raids in which children, spouses and grandparents are rounded up and sent packing by the military to their home countries.

Weiser told ABC News recently that he’s only willing to allow the deportation of those already convicted of violent crimes.

“We believe in inclusion. We think about Aurora, which has been singled out as the Ellis Island of the West. We don’t want to see the sort of disruptions being talked about is going to harm our workers, going to harm our families and our communities,” Weiser said.

As if Denver’s sanctuary city status wasn’t enough of a magnet for drawing illegal immigrants to Colorado.

Now Weiser proclaims Aurora the “Ellis Island of the West” because Trump doesn’t want foreign gang member harassing and assaulting residents there.

Like we said, Weiser’s been watching too much of the mainstream media’s nonstop, handwringing coverage of Trumpageddon 2025.

Democrats don’t believe Trump’s deportation effort is to get bad actors out of the country and clear the jails of those arrested for crimes, because that’s what their leaders, like Weiser, keep telling them.

Asked about Aurora, Weiser seems to think it’s going to be like this:

“My fear is they’ll use this situation of some criminal activity as a basis to go after so many people that will undermine our community, that will be disruptive and that will violate people’s rights, that’s what we’re going to stand up against,” Weiser said.

We think they’ll start by clearing out the immigration detention center that’s located in Aurora.

That seems much more realistic as opposed to an illegal military crap shoot deployment on Main Streets across the nation and demands to see everyone’s papers.

But then again, we don’t watch Morning Joe.
