It’s not just cheap labor the Democrats like to import from over the border.
With U.S. neighbors balking at Colorado’s request to give them wolves for forced reintroduction here, the Polis administration has turned to imported Canadian wolves.
And boy, are Republican lawmakers pissed about it.
News reports from multiple media outlets reveal 15 more predators were flown Sunday by Colorado Parks and Wildlife on a flight from British Columbia to the Eagle County Airport to be released in the Eagle, Pitkin, Garfield County area.
From the joint statement issued by Republican U.S. Reps. Jeff Hurd, Lauren Boebert, Jeff Crank and Gabe Evans:
“After years of slighting or outright ignoring Colorado farmers and ranchers with politically appointed anti-agricultural activists and ‘meat-free days,’ bureaucrats in Colorado have rushed through the importation of Canadian gray wolves and have set them loose in our state despite numerous protests and questions about the legality of this dysfunctional and chaotic approach.”
The lawmakers asked incoming President Trump to take immediate action and stop further importation of foreign predators into the U.S.
We would suggest a big, beautiful tariff, but Colorado Democrats could care less about blowing a billion dollars in taxpayer money on wolf taxes. Hell, they’d probably just raise ours.
Meanwhile, Trump should take up the lawmaker’s suggestion that gray wolves be delisted as an endangered species, considering their numbers are surging in other parts of the country where they are already established.
The lawmakers said state agricultural producers lost $580,000 in just the first year of the wolves’ introduction.
“We should be working with our farmers and ranchers who tirelessly labor to feed us, instead of hastily rushing foreign predators into our state and bloating even further a terribly mismanaged wolf program.”
We look forward to President Trump’s inauguration on Monday.
