A few months ago we caught state Senate President and Congressional candidate Brandon Shaffer violating a Department of Defense directive about using photos of military personnel in uniform by not including a disclaimer that the photo did not imply an endorsement by any branch of the military.
In a Memorial Day fundraising email sent yesterday, including a picture of Shaffer in a Navy sailors' uniform, it appears Shaffer has decided to finally comply with the directive.
At the bottom of his email screed, the following disclaimer appeared:
Brandon Shaffer is a former member of the Navy. Use of his military rank, job titles, and photographs in uniform does not imply endorsement by the Department of the Navy or the Department of Defense.
Only took Shaffer six months to do it right.
