Chaos reigns supreme at Gov. John Hickenlooper’s oil and gas task force as the moderators are routinely caught off guard, confused by the rules, and steamrolled by members of the panel.
Karen Crummy with Protect Colorado, a pro-industry group, explains via Twitter:
In an #ogtaskforce cluster, moderators allow recommendations killed yesterday to pass today. #copolitics #cofracking #whoisincharge?

The task force members also spent 45 minutes last month arguing about their agenda, which is something we thought they paid facilitators with the Keystone Center to handle for them. Keystone Center has deep ties to the Hickenlooper administration, and they’ve proven once again that getting a job through cronyism doesn’t require that you be any good at said job.
Back in September, we questioned how Keystone Center even got its contract to run the task force in the first place and whether it was competitively bid out. In light of their most recent blunders, those questions merit asking again.
