The National Republican Senatorial Committee is wasting no time getting after U.S. Sen. Michael, who is listed as one of the most vulnerable senators in 2016. This morning, they sent out an unflattering video of Bennet admitting that he didn’t read the full text of the $830 billion stimulus before voting for it.

This is one of the easiest self-inflicted wounds to avoid, yet Bennet’s arrogance seems to have got the best of him. Sometimes these bills are thousands of pages long, which is a problem for so many reasons. But, that still doesn’t let elected officials off the hook when it comes to reading the full text of any legislation they vote on.

As NRSC spokeswoman Andrea Bozek put it: “If Bennet can’t even read legislation that recklessly spent $830 billion, then he should lose the privilege of representing Colorado in the Senate.”
