It looks like the transportation bill will crash and burn and we say good riddance.

Perhaps if lawmakers had put aside the $3 billion they say they needed when they started crafting the $28. 5 billion in the budget, they might have, uhm, found the money.

It’s an annoying slight of hand, to raise taxes, instead of doing the hard work they were elected to perform to eliminate wasteful spending while directing tax dollars to what is most needed.

But instead, they’re spending our money on everything but transportation, and then telling us if we want better roads we have to raise taxes.

It’s an old bait and switch scheme, and we applaud Republicans for not falling for it.
