Teacher unions have thrown their support and endorsements to Democrat Cary Kennedy for the governor’s race. But Jared Polis isn’t giving up without a social media fight, plastering this plea on his Twitter and Facebook accounts.
Colorado’s teachers have been undervalued and underpaid for far too long. As #COGov, one of my top priorities will be increasing teacher pay, and making sure every teacher has the resources they need to help our kids succeed. Learn more ➡️ https://t.co/Kyte78LlJE pic.twitter.com/xpLgOxxsdj

It’s an old-fashioned campaign pitch — vote for me and I will give you money — because Polis is desperate to lock up the Democratic voter base, and cash is a tried and true method.
Being a millionaire, it’s easy for Polis to promise big pay-outs. The trick is doing it with tax dollars.
And it’s not a given anymore that Democratic voters automatically think only teachers should be paid more money. That’s become a cliche. After the economic downturn, we all think we all should be paid more than $23 an hour, and have pensions and summers off.
Try that in a campaign meme, Polis.
