Democratic billionaire activist Tom Steyer and his NextGen group are openly exploiting the Florida school shooting for political gain.
According to Politico, Steyer has joined with two anti-gun groups including one founded by former New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, to “push ahead of the midterm elections to register high school students to vote around gun issues.”
In addition to registering these new Democratic, single-issue voters, Steyer says his intention is to push the influence of NextGen America beyond college campuses, this time to even younger voters.
The effort, which will include digital and mail registration pushes, will also work to pre-register students who are not yet 18 in states where that is allowed.
Given Steyer’s history meddling in Colorado politics, we expect to see this movement pop up here on day one of the campaign, March 25.
Steyer, who is also an environmental extremist, is quickly becoming the largest single donor to the Democratic Party.
In this November’s mid-term election, Steyer alone is spending $31 million to win races for Democrats in states across the nation, in part by spending yet another $20 million to trash Trump and weaken Republican candidates who support the president.
By comparison, the 4.5 million members of the National Rifle Association donated about $25 million in 2016 to political candidates outside the presidential race.
