Did anyone even notice the vice president of the United States was in Vail over the Memorial Day weekend?

The headline of the Vail Daily story by Randy Wyrick explains why: Pence was with his family, and kept a low profile.

The vice president attended a friend’s wedding at Camp Hale, and stopped by the Turntable restaurant in Minturn.

Pence wasn’t there just for the breakfast burritos — which we strongly recommend — but to visit with Gold Star families.

He went to church with his wife the next day, then left with little to no fanfare.

It’s a nice departure from Hillary Clinton, who blows into Aspen regularly to make a big, noisy splash and raise money. She’s also been known to skip out on her security tab.

So welcome, and farewell, Mr. Vice President. We hope you will visit our state again soon, even if it’s only for quiet family time.
