In less than 24 hours, Colorado Senate President Kevin J. Grantham managed to raise $6,246 out of $10,000 needed to commission a painting of President Trump for the Capitol’s Hall of Presidential Portraits.
We weren’t aware of this, but it turns out that fundraising efforts for the painting never got off the ground.
Thanks to some liberal smart ass who somehow managed to smuggle an easel and a portrait of Russian thug Vladimir Putin, and without anyone noticing, placed it in the presidential hall, now we know.

The portrait was taken down by a tour guide, but not before state Sen. Steve Fenberg, Boulder Democrat, just happened to be on hand to snap a photo of the presentation to tweet to his followers.
Fenberg is the founder of New Era Colorado the activist group that bills itself as an organization dedicated to “making politics fun again.”
But we’re sure Fenberg’s timing was a complete coincidence. This couldn’t possibly be the work of a lefty activist mocking Trump. Had to be a right-winger that hates Russia.
Anyway, what the prank did accomplish was to bring the missing portrait to the public’s attention, including Grantham, who is raising the needed money through this Go Fund Me effort.
“Regardless of your personal feelings for the President, ensuring that our Hall of Presidential Portraits is complete is vital for the preservation of our nation’s – and our state’s – history,” Grantham said.
Donations can be made through the website, or by check sent to Colorado Citizens for Culture, 2001 Lincoln Street, Suite 1611, Denver, Colorado, 80202.
Any additional money raised will be donated to Rocky Mountain Honor Flight, a 501(c)3 non-profit that gives WWII, Korean War, and Vietnam War veterans in the Rocky Mountain Region the opportunity to visit the National WWII Memorial and other monuments and memorials dedicated to their service in Washington D.C.
