Colorado is getting more than $43 million in federal dollars for major road projects, U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner announced this week.

Aurora will get $25 million to realign Piccadilly Road and build a new bridge over Interstate 70.

The state transportation department is getting more than $18 million for highway improvements to connect El Paso County regional military installations.

“These BUILD grants will go a long way to help ease congestion and improve access for Colorado’s military installations and safety for the Piccadilly Road interchange,” Gardner said.

Gardner met with local officials in Fountain recently to discuss Fort Carson Gate 19 access and the need for improvements.
