Having abandoned all hope of global warming doing the job activists have advertised for decades — warming —  snow plows will take to the streets today and free Denverites after six days of icy gridlock.

Go team.

But the city is only going to do it this one time, because deicing could be bad for the environment:

Any expansion of the current residential plow program to include de-icing materials on a more regular basis would require a cost analysis, an assessment of environmental impacts to air quality due to increased particulate matter, and resources that may be required to sweep the streets afterwards to reduce particulate matter.

By all means, we wouldn’t want all that salt air or sand. Just look what it does to the environment!

No word on whether the city has handed out any $150 tickets yet to everyone living in the city who hasn’t cleared their sidewalk.
