Is it laziness or just his desperation to be relevant that’s led John Hickenlooper to basically steal U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner’s list of long-held goals and accomplishments and claim them as his own campaign talking points?

To say Hickenlooper’s campaign rhetoric is strikingly similar to Gardner’s own record would be an understatement, agrees Joanna Rodriguez, spokeswoman for the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

“Hickenlooper’s copycat conservation agenda is nothing more than empty talking points based on the victories Cory Gardner has already delivered and continues to deliver for Colorado every day in the United States Senate,” Rodriquez said in a statement.

Hickenlooper says his top priority will be to oppose selling off federal land.

Gardner already did more than just make it a priority, he blocked attempts to target the Canyons of the Ancients National Monument and secured a commitment from the administration to preserve the site.

Hickenlooper promises to fund the Land and Water Conservation Fund, never mind that Gardner secured funding for the program at its highest level in 15 years.

Hickenlooper wants to end the trade war, Gardner has actually been working to end it.

Hickenlooper’s sad run on Sen. Gardner’s record of accomplishments is just more proof it’s time to put that washed-up politician out to pasture.
