The Biden administration now says data (Science!) shows schools across the nation should fully open up immediately and teachers do not need to be vaccinated first.

These new CDC guidelines conflict with Gov. Polis’s decision to put the teachers’ union in the vaccination line ahead of Coloradans who suffer from severe health complications that put them at severe risk of hospitalization or dying from COVID-19.

Democrat U.S. Sens. John Hickenlooper and Michael Bennet also put politics over science last week when they chose unions over children and refused to open schools even after teachers are vaccinated.

CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky said nearly two weeks ago that, “vaccination of teachers is not a prerequisite for the safe reopening of schools.”

The White House tried to walk back her statement, but the CDC on Friday made it an actual guideline to reopening schools.

“It is critical for schools to open as safely and as soon as possible, and remain open, to achieve the benefits of in-person learning and key support services,” the new guidelines said.

As for vaccinating teachers and staff, the CDC guidelines state “as soon as supply allows” and that could be awhile.

Polis needs to stop putting his political supporters and spouse above the voters he serves, and put the new CDC guidelines into action across the state.
