Politics got deliciously dicey in the U.S. House Thursday for Democrats who had to vote on a Republican resolution that called on them to denounce the horrors of socialism.

After many awkward speeches, 109 Democrats finally gave up their socialist souls and agreed they were evil, while 86 Democrats voted in favor of evil socialism.

Surprisingly, nearly every Colorado Democrat voted against socialism. The only socialist to hold her ground and support their evil ways was the senior member of the delegation, U.S. Rep. Diana DeGette.

Republicans called up the resolution as a way to remind the public that socialist policies – which they fear have been creeping into American life after two years of Democrat control in Washington – go against the values on which America was founded. House Majority Leader Steve Scalise, R-La., said Thursday that socialism is “one of the most destructive ideologies in world history.”

The resolution approved by the House says history shows that any move toward socialism “necessitates a concentration of power that has time and time again collapsed into Communist regimes, totalitarian rule and brutal dictatorships.”

Voting against socialism in all its evil forms were Colorado’s new members of Congress, Yadira Caraveo representing the 8th District and Brittany Pettersen from the 7th District.

Jason Crow, and Joe Neguse also agreed socialism was bad.

All of Colorado’s Republican delegation supported the Republican resolution.

It’s going to be a long two years for Democrats in the minority.
