Colorado Democrats are divided over the war in Israel with congressional members and state Jewish leaders defending the Holy Land while socialist state legislators rallied for Palestine and its radical militant group Hamas.

The newest member of the State House and a radical in his own right, Rep. Tim Hernández attended the Saturday rally with Rep. Iman Jodeh where he was captured on video.

Hernández also reposted this but later deleted it after receiving a lot of negative attention for his behavior at the rally on Saturday.

The video features revolutionary Marxist Angela Davis, who was found guilty on conspiracy charges in connection with a 1970 California courtroom shootout that killed a judge and three other people, but she was later acquired.

Davis explained in this video that one has to expect there are going to be explosions because of the way society is organized.

Jodeh, who is first generation Palestinian American, challenged those who would offer prayers in this historical conflict between Muslims and Jews and instead urged reeducation of the Palestinian side of the conflict.

The attack was coordinated by Palestinian militants from the armed group Hamas by land, sea and air, as they stormed small villages and military targets while showing Israel with thousands of rockets.

So far, 700 Israelis were killed in the initial attack and 400 Palestinians killed in the counter-attack over the weekend.

Gov. Polis, who is Jewish, says he was alarmed and deeply heartbroken by the attack on the Israeli people.

We’re not really sure what to make of the rest of the governor’s statement, seeing as how he’s not the president, nor a political player on the world stage, but the governor of one of 50 states who’s had no role in the Mideast peace process.

“I call on Hamas to immediately cease their attack against Israel. I will continue to monitor the crisis and stand in solidarity with Israel.”

Hamas didn’t listen, and the fighting continues.

Attorney General Phil Weiser who is also Jewish, weighed in:

U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet, who acknowledges both Jewish and Christian roots, issued this statement:

Meanwhile, Colorado’s Republican congressional delegation, none of whom are Jewish, also came out in support of Israel and condemned the Hamas attacks as terrorism.
