A Colorado law prohibiting women from seeking help to reverse the effects of abortion-inducing medication after taking the first pill has been blocked by a federal court until the case brought by a Catholic health care clinic is settled.
So weird how Democrats are all about pro-choice when it comes to aborting a baby, but if a woman or man changes their mind and wants help to keep the child, they rush to outlaw that kind of healthcare.
The ruling by Federal Judge Daniel D. Domenico was released late Saturday and blocks the only law in the nation that forbids abortion pill reversal health care.
The state has 30 days to file an appeal with the Tenth Circuit Court of Appeal, and Democrat Attorney General Phil Weiser isn’t saying yet how the state will proceed to uphold the law passed the Democrat legislature.
The ruling was welcomed by Bella Health and Wellness and lawyers representing the clinic from The Becket Fund for Religious Liberty.
“Colorado is trying to make outlaws of doctors and nurses providing life-saving and compassionate care to women they serve,” said Rebekah Ricketts, counsel at Becket. “This ruling ensures that pregnant women across the state will receive the care they deserve and won’t be forced to have abortions against their will.”
Many clinics across the nation including Bella provide treatment with the natural hormone progesterone, which is used to maintain a healthy pregnancy to woman at risk of miscarriage.
When used by women who have already taken the first abortion pill but change their mind and want to carry the baby to term, studies have shown the treatment to be effective, the clinic says.
Since the law was set to take effect in April, Bella says they have successfully helped multiple women continue their pregnancies, including one who recently gave birth to a healthy baby.
Pro-abortion advocates and their supporters in the medical industry say the treatment does not work and insist it be outlawed as a treatment to continue pregnancies.
“Some of these women have had abortion pills forced on them, and others change their minds,” said Dede Chism and Abby Sinnett, cofounders of Bella Health and Wellness. “We are relieved and overjoyed to continue helping the many women who come to our clinic seeking help.”
It seems like choosing to have a child should also be an issue of choice that’s also worth protecting.
If only some people were as fierce about saving lives as they seem to be about snuffing out newborn babies, what a wonderful world this could be.
