In this week’s episode of “What the Hell was Ken Buck thinking?” Colorado’s soon to be former congressman was one of only eight Republicans to side with Democrats against impeaching Homeland Security Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas.
The Democrats’ effort to stop the Republican’s impeachment effort passed on a 209-201 vote.
For those living under a rock, the Homeland Security Department oversees border protection and ensuring an orderly immigration process.
Under the intentionally incompetent leadership of Mayorkas, both are complete failures putting our homeland at risk.
Ken Buck(R) has turned out to be a major disappointment. Seems like he’s out for a political vendetta against other Republicans. https://t.co/YBPnrfR4zL

The other Republicans voting with Democrats include Patrick McHenry and Virginia Foxx of North Carolina, Tom McClintock, John Duarte and Darrell Issa of California, and Cliff Bentz and Mike Turner of Ohio.
Buck explained his vote afterwards in yet another CNN audition.
Secretary Mayorkas did not commit an impeachable offense. Despite my strong disagreement with his handling of our southern border, which puts this country at grave risk, he is not guilty of high crimes or misdemeanors. pic.twitter.com/lnNa1dhb40

Buck also defended his vote on X warning that the Jabberwock jaws bite and claws catch the frumious Bandersnatch, so beware!
Or something like that …
While it is undeniable that @SecMayorkas has failed to execute his duties as head of the Department of Homeland Security, the responsibility for his appointment lies with President Joe Biden.🧵1/5

Homeland Security, via Mayorkas, responded to the impeachment vote in a statement blaming Congress for refusing to send them more money for new hammers to continue wrecking the immigration system they broke by flooding the borders.
