Divorce can be ugly, especially when it involves children.
And when a spouse is an elected official of the Republican persuasion loathed by the media, it can escalate to tabloid headlines.
Long story short, Lauren Boebert is in the news again after dinner with her ex-husband Saturday night at the Miner’s Claim restaurant in Silt led to a police call.
Jayson Boebert claims the 3rd District Congresswoman punched him several times in the face prompting him to call police.
Police won’t say anything until they review the restaurant’s video tape.
And now the ex-husband says never mind and claims to have called police the day after saying he doesn’t want to press charges.
Either way, police should still review the video and inform the public whether the allegations are true, and the Western Slope congresswoman can’t keep her temper in check, or the scene was instigated by a troubled ex-husband.
Boebert said in statements to the media:
“This is a sad situation for all that keeps escalating and another reason I’m moving.” I didn’t punch Jayson in the face and no one was arrested. I will be consulting with my lawyer about the false claims he made against me and evaluate all of my legal options.”
Stay tuned.
