Take a hard look, Democrats. Your open borders wish has come true and now major American cities like Denver are in crisis.

By abusing past policies to pry open loopholes as well as walls, President Biden has admitted eight million immigrants into our country without the legal status necessary to get a job and earn money to put a roof over their heads.

The infrastructure to process this never-ending flood of newcomers is so overwhelmed and backlogged by the millions, it will take up to six years just to process asylum claims.

And who suffers? The tens of thousands of legitimate asylum seekers who must wait in line behind millions of migrants each year whose false claims will ultimately be denied.

The media is awash with sad stories of truly needy asylum seekers like Emily Borges, who isn’t here for free stuff, but is stuck in a Denver shelter because she can’t get a work permit and support her daughter.

From the Denver Post:

Denver Mayor Mike Johnston and other Colorado leaders have advocated for changes to the asylum and work authorization processes at the federal level, particularly as Denver faces what the mayor calls a “fiscal crisis.” The mounting costs of assisting migrants recently prompted the first round of budget cuts to city services.

Venezuelans who arrived in the U.S. by July 31 received temporary protective status in a one-time move last year, allowing them to work. But there hasn’t been any action like that to help more recent waves of migrants.

While many progressives enjoy anarchy, U.S. residents can’t help but notice the incredible strain an open border has put on our resources, the infrastructure, our wallets, as well as the migrants with legitimate asylum claims.

We know there are needy people who truly need asylum, but neither the media nor their Democrat friends in the White House and Congress bothered preparing our country to sustain a never-ending flood of workers on our economy.

There’s no plan in place to make room in our schools for the children of the world who don’t speak English.

That $10 million unpaid bill at one Denver hospital is just one example of the burden this free-for-all border is having on our health care system.

Colorado is already struggling to find affordable housing for its residents, now we bear the burden of the world’s housing.

And if most migrants are low-skilled workers and find themselves living in poverty as they did in their home country — those are conditions that so often lead to crime.

The idea of open borders and everyone living free in America was a nice dream for Democrats.

But it’s past time for the dreamers to wake up and face their false reality — of how open borders puts an inhuman strain on migrants who will learn the hard way we just don’t have the resources to support the world’s poor and downtrodden.
