Gov. Polis used his official X account to promote the sale of cookies by a franchised business prompting cries of hypocrisy and questions about the ethical rules of his endorsement.
Behold, the problematic post.
We probably need an ethics investigation into Gov Jared Polis(D) using his elected office to promote a private company.#copolitics pic.twitter.com/BskHi16UYD

The video is even worse.
Try out this week’s Crumbl cookies with me! #crumbl #crumblcookies pic.twitter.com/o9QJdyUJvx

Ethical or not, such blatant commercialism doesn’t belong on the governor’s official social media account.
Critics are also demanding to know if Polis has a financial interest in the franchise.
But who can tell? The governor hasn’t released all his income tax returns since he first ran for Congress.
We expect the First Gentleman — an avid vegetarian — certainly does not approve of Polis’s endorsement as the cookies most certainly contain milk and eggs. Gasp.
Speaking of which, the hypocrisy of Polis’s post was not lost on social media.
True, Colorado’s Meat Out Day is always a tough one for the gov when he tries to perform a balancing act between his partner’s total disdain of cattle and the food it provides, and the billions of dollars cattle produces in state revenue each year.
And eggs?!
Don’t even get us started on the egg shortage.
Plus, Polis and the Democrat legislature’s law goes into effect in two weeks requiring all eggs sold in the state be the product of a cage free environment, so brace for yet another price increase.
Meanwhile, this social media influencer warns that multiple ingredients in these brands of cookies, down to the basic ingredient of flour, are bad for our health.
Killjoy.
