The Colorado congressional delegation has some fresh Republican blood coursing through the House of Representatives who voted on Friday for Mike Johnson as Speaker of the House on the first vote with only one Republican (form Kentucky) voting against him.
The people nationwide have spoken, as well as the Coloradans living inside all of these red squares.
Johnson’s job along with Colorado’s new House members is to deliver on that national mandate and secure the border, deport criminal aliens, reduce inflation, deliver on promised tax cuts on tips and Social Security, and restore U.S. energy dominance.
Congressman Jeff Crank from Colorado Springs was anxious to get started today.
Freshman Republican Reps. Jeff Hurd of Grand Junction and Gabe Evans who wrestled the new 8th District seat from Democrats also voted for Johnson.
Lauren Boebert, who now represents the eastern plains, also voted for Johnson. However, she predicted his success hinged on promising the Rules Committee chairmanship to a Freedom Caucus member from Texas.

That doesn’t appear to have been the case.
Meanwhile, all of Colorado’s Democrats voted for House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries to be speaker, but he lost on the first ballot as Johnson won with a vote of 218 to 215.
