Radical progressives succeeded in getting one of their own chosen to fill the term of a popular Arapahoe County state senator who resigned right after she was reelected in November.
That’s how Democracy is practiced nowadays by Colorado Democrats; through the bait and switch tactic of running an elected official for reelection unopposed. Then upon reelection, they quit and a select committee of party insiders chooses their successor thereby robbing residents of their rightful votes.
In this bait-and-switch, the four-year term of state Sen. Janet Buckner will instead be filled by state Rep. Iman Jodeh of Aurora.
For those playing along, that means voters will not get to choose Jodeh’s successor, either. Yet another vacancy panel of party insiders will elect that new representative.
The vacancy loophole also allows Jodeh to bypass term-limits and serve ten years instead of eight as the law states, because laws never seem to apply to Democrats.
Jodeh was chosen Monday by 35 of the 42 vacancy committee members present and defeated other candidates vying for the job, Maya Wheeler who got only seven votes and Christian Caldwell who got zero.
The word we’re thinking of starts with an F and ends in a D … with an X in the middle, you filthy minded readers.
In addition to promising to support eliminating the Taxpayers’ Bill of Rights and robbing us of our tax rebates, Jodeh also pledged to strengthen sanctuary laws to protect migrants who are in this country illegally.
PeakNation™ will recall that in her previous term as a state representative, Jodeh ignored the needs of Aurora residents and instead spent her time protesting for Palestine and accused Israel of genocide for its military response to the Hamas terrorist attack.
The rise of State Rep. Iman Jodeh shows Colorado Dems haven’t learned from Epps and Hernández.
Behind @ImanforColorado‘s polished veneer lies troubling antisemitic rhetoric and disregard for constituents. Why reward extremism with a Senate seat?

With state Sen. Steve Hanson’s seat filled by a vacancy committee this week as well, that brings the number of Democrats serving in the state legislature who were elected by the vacancy committee tactic to 21. On the Republican side of the aisle, only three members were elected by vacancy committees.
This article was corrected to reflect Jodeh’s third term will only include two years.
