The House is voting today to establish a new policy blocking Obama from relocating terrorists held at Guantanamo Bay into the U.S., and the Senate is expected to pass a similar ban by the end of the year.

The problem is that news reports say Obama has secret plans to do it anyway through an executive order, and as we know, Colorado has already been scouted to bring the terrorists here.

The Wall Street Journal reports:

The White House has been working on options for executive action, including legal justifications. Administration officials have been increasingly candid that it is a route the president is willing to take.

U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet voted in favor of bills allowing the terrorists to be moved to the U.S. in 2009, 2012, and 2013. But now that it’s election season, he’s grumbling that he was for the move before he was against it.

Bennet told the Denver Post last month:

“The Department of Defense has no authority to transfer these prisoners or make such modifications and they have made no case that it makes sense to do so.”

However, U.S. Sen. Cory Gardner is holding firm to his conviction that terrorists should not be relocated onto U.S. soil, particularly Colorado, and blasted the administration for their plans to violate U.S. law to do so anyway.

“President Obama apparently has a secret plan to move dangerous terrorists from Guantanamo to American soil,” Gardner said. “He has thus far not shared that plan with the American people, instead choosing to employ anonymous leaks to White House correspondents. If the President is determined to move terrorists to our state, Coloradans should know why and how he plans to do it. We’re waiting.”

Gardner has written the White House demanding answers, but has gotten no response.

No word from Bennet on this latest development. We expect he is firing up the spin machine to figure out how to explain his voting record to bring terrorists to U.S. soil, and his own backyard.
