Flags across Colorado are flying at half-staff on Tuesday but it has nothing to do with the end of America’s longest war, and it’s not to honor the Coloradans who served or the 40 who died in Afghanistan fighting for our country.
Gov. Polis ordered the flags lowered after declaring Aug. 31 as Gov. Richard Lamm Day.
A memorial service will be held today for Lamm, who actually died a month ago on July 30.
Polis and numerous other Democrats, who’ve had little or nothing to say about the disastrous end to the war brought about by the Biden administration, will be speaking instead today about what a swell guy Lamm was.
Priorities, apparently.
As the war comes to a close, Polis had no message of hope or thanks to all of the Coloradans who served us bravely there over the last two decades.
Polis had no words of sympathy for the families of the 40 Coloradans who died in the Afghanistan War.
Polis did not order the American flags lowered in their honor, it was lowered for a politician who died a month ago.
Shame on Polis.
Also ignoring the sacrifice made by Coloradans or even noting the end of the war or Joe Biden’s complete malfeasance, are Colorado Democrat U.S. Reps. Diana DeGette, Ed Perlmutter and Joe Neguse, as were Democratic U.S. Sens. Michael Bennet and John Hickenlooper.
The only Democrat in the state’s congressional delegation who recognized our men and women who served in the military was U.S. Rep. Jason Crow, a veteran himself.
“To my fellow combat vets: the war may never end for many of you, but know that the nation is proud of your service,” Crow said in a tweet.
