If you’re an elected Democrat in Colorado, you might want to call your office.
Denver Attorney and political heavy-hitter Steven Bachar is wanted on charges of securities fraud, according to a Denver Post report Monday.
"Bachar previously worked with Sen. John Hickenlooper, serving as counsel on Hickenlooper’s campaign for Denver mayor and on his transition team" #copolitics

Bachar is a familiar name among Democrats in Colorado, having contributed to and worked with a multitude of campaigns here over the past decade.
The former Clinton administration Treasury Department official also served as co-chairman of the Clinton Global Initiative in 2014.
A quick scan of TRACER shows that just in the last four years alone, Bachar has contributed to the campaigns of:
- Ed Perlmutter (Gubernatorial campaign)
- Phil Weiser
- Jena Griswold
- Cary Kennedy
- Mike Johnston
- Jeff Bridges
On the federal side, Bachar has also recently contributed to U.S. Reps. Jason Crow and Joe Neguse, and even Brittany Pettersen’s brief campaign for Congress in 2017.
In addition to securities fraud, Bachar was accused by two companies last year of “mishandling nearly $2 million earmarked for personal protective equipment purchases during the pandemic.”
