Gino Campana has emerged as the conservative frontrunner to consolidate support from Trump administration officials, who are lining up to back the businessman in the Republican primary to challenge Democrat U.S. Sen. Michael Bennet.
A whole host of Trump world who’s who have endorsed Campana including former National Security Advisor Keith Kellogg and Trump’s Homeland Security Advisor, Rear Admiral Peter J. Brown.
Colorado native Dave Bernhardt who served as Trump’s Interior Secretary was the first out of the gate with an endorsement of Campana.
Campana was also a Trump nominee, who was chosen to serve on the Public Buildings Reform Board to help cut government waste.
Katie Sullivan, another Coloradan who was an Eagle County judge before serving as Trump’s director of the federal office battling violence against women, endorsed Campana on Friday.
As voters are growing frustrated with soft-on-crime Democrats and the defunding of police, the timing of the endorsement is significant and a boost for Campana’s campaign.
“It is time to clean up our streets and curb the rise in violence,” Campana said in announcing Sullivan’s endorsement.
“I will always stand up for what is right and advocate for those who have survived crimes,” Campana said.
